Excellent Online course for Theatre Departments

Essential Stage Movement Video Instructor is an excellent, one-of-a-kind Online course, that Drama and Theatre students may take individually or with the supervision of a faculty member, or even a graduate student. In fact, this is a self-taught course in Stage Movement designed to be taken by an individual student or a group of students. The program is carefully crafted to fit the needs of a Theatre Department or any College Drama/Theatre program, though a high school Drama program might find it very helpful, as it develops essential psychophysical qualities necessary for the actor.

The program offers 30 practical lessons in Stage Movement plus an Introduction and the Final Lesson. The Final Lesson is in fact a test class, where students can demonstrate their achievements to one another and to the person who supervised the class.

This class should be offered as a one semester, 3-credit course and the Test Class should be a group demonstration in front of one, or several teachers of the Department. The course has all the elements of a regular class; the Instructor, the music to accompany exercises, the graphics, and animations to help students to understand the task, and even the feedback. The supervisor of the course will be supplied with detailed instructions on how to evaluate the achievements of a student in the Final Class. This course may be offered to students as an elective, or included in the program. It would be an excellent tool to develop the essential Faculties, Habits, and Skills, that can be instrumental for further study in all kind of stylized movement, such as Mime, Combat, and Period Movement.
